Halloween Frights and Delights at our Kid’s Morning

← Return to Blog

On Saturday 22nd October we welcomed many little monsters and witches to the practice for our Halloween Kid’s Morning.
The aim of the morning was to promote the importance of oral health, good brushing and healthy gums to the children in a healthy and fun environment.
On the morning we had three demonstrations set up in our surgeries; the Blue Room, the Red Room and the Green Room.
The Blue Room was our ‘Show and Tell’ demonstration with our Head Nurse Lesley, and gave the children the opportunity to try out our dental equipment and have a go at being a dentist themselves!
In our Red Room – Play Do’hing around – our dentist Oonagh showed the children how to correctly brush and floss, through the use of props and play doh.
The Green Room – Acid Attack – was a particular favourite, as our dentist Jane showed the affects of acid and fizzy drinks on teeth, through the use of coke and mentos.
We also had a range of displays and activities on show. We had a cinema area showing many teeth related films, whilst the face painting, Halloween tattoos and balloons went down a treat.
We had special guest appearances from Elsa, Scooby Doo and Chase from Paw Patrol, and even had the TV crew from Irish TV – Tyrone County Matters join us!
We hope that everyone enjoyed our morning and can take on board the new skills and information. We had a great morning and look forward to seeing you all at our next one.
