Liam Diamond Principle Dentist Diamond Dental

Liam Diamond

The practice is headed by Liam, the principal and practice owner. A graduate from Queen’s University Belfast in 2005, he qualified with Distinction in Practice of Dentistry. Liam was awarded the Ralph J Smith prize by RVH Belfast for high standards of Conservative Dentistry.

After qualification, he worked for a number of years within a busy NHS practice in Belfast. After gaining experience working privately in Omagh, he joined Lenny and Associates Dental Practice in 2009, becoming the principal dentist. Since then he has been central in practice development, expansion and rebranding to the present day Diamond Dental Clinic.

Liam takes the Clinical Lead within the practice and has a special interest in aesthetic dentistry; including smile design, veneers, tooth whitening and composite bonding. Having attended courses with some of the worlds best aesthetic dentists including Walter De Voto, Gerard Chiche and Konrad Meyenberg, Liam is building a reputation for clinical excellence.

Liam is a member the British Dental Association and Committee member of the Irish Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry. He has previously worked for the Northern Ireland Medical and Dental Training Agency (NIMDTA) and is a Denplan certified dentist.

Conor Maguire

Conor graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 2001. Since graduating, he has completed postgraduate training, including an Implant Course and an Advance Surgical Course with Dr Ed Scher, London. Conor has a keen interest in implantology and minimally invasive techniques. He obtained his MFDS from the Royal College of Physicians of Glasgow in 2012.

Oonagh Mc Closkey

Oonagh graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 2005. She then completed postgraduate training before gaining her MJDF RCS Eng in 2012.

With her patient’s best interest at heart, Oonagh is passionate about the treatment and management of nervous, anxious and phobic patients, especially children and toddlers. She has also undergone training in relaxation techniques for dentistry including Acupuncture.

With a keen interest in Cosmetic Dentistry; whitening, veneers and facial rejuvenation (non surgical anti wrinkle treatment and fillers), Oonagh has completed Advanced Botox Courses and gained Advanced Fillers Certificates from the Bob Khanna Training Institute at Royal College of Surgeons, London.
A platinum provider in the UK and Ireland for Somnowell – anti snoring devices, her memberships include the British Dental Association (BDA) and The International Academy of Aesthetic Facial Academics (IAAFA). Oonagh also has published research on Oral Cancer in the Journal of Oral Oncology.

Catherine Mclarnon Dentist Diamond Dental

Catherine McLarnon

Catherine joined Diamond Dental Clinic in 2010 as our Practice Hygienist. Her main role within the practice is to provide patients with preventive dental care through periodontal treatment. After undergoing her training at Queen’s University Belfast, Catherine received ‘The Tepe Communicator Award’. An enthusiastic and welcoming member of the team, Catherine enjoys educating patients on improving and maintaining good oral hygiene.

Brenda Herron

Brenda graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 1993. She completed vocational training in 1995 and has worked in Oldtown Dental Surgery, Cookstown since then, before moving to Diamond Dental Clinic in October 2017. She enjoys building relationships with her patients, putting them at ease and helping them through treatment. She also enjoys meeting new patients, getting to know their patient needs and helping them to achieve their desired smile.

Jane Doran Dentist Diamond Dental

Jane Doran

Jane graduated from Glasgow University in 2013. She then practiced in the Highlands of Scotland before returning to Northern Ireland to join the Diamond Dental team in November 2018.

Jane completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Endodontics/Root Canal Treatment, at the University of Chester in 2020. She is now a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, after passing her membership exams in 2016.

Her motivation for post graduate study is to keep up to date with advances in dentistry, particularly in the field of Root Canal Treatment, and to provide high quality dental care for her patients. Jane enjoys taking on additional referred cases within the practice which is of great benefit to the team.

Mark Friend

Mark is originally from Edinburgh and qualified with honors in 2001 from Dundee University. He holds a Bachelor of Medical Science in Physiology and is also a member by examination of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners at the Royal College of Surgeons.

Mark has trained extensively in restorative dentistry and will complete a PG Certificate this year with the prestigious training academy – Tipton Training. He is particularly interested in composite bonding, root canal therapy and restorative work. Mark has also trained extensively in minimal intervention techniques to make dentistry for children easier than ever before.

Mark traveled extensively as a dentist across the world working in Kenya, Canada, Norway, Germany, Kuwait, South America and Scotland before settling in Moneymore with his wife and 2 young children in 2018.

David McQuillan

David joined our collection of dentists at Diamond Dental Clinic in the beginning of May 2021. He qualified from The University of Glasgow; where he grew up, in 2016. David previously worked in Scotland at a General Dental Practice for 4 years before moving to Northern Ireland with his Fiance at the beginning of 2021. David enjoys all aspects of Dentistry and always aims to make his patients feel at ease. We are excited to have him as part of the team to bring a youthful spirit to the practice and to develop his career with us.

Gary O’Neill

Gary became a new addition to the Diamond Dental team in July 2023. Gary is a highly skilled and experienced dentist with a passion for cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry. Gary completed his undergraduate studies in dental surgery at Newcastle University in 2017 where he then practiced for 6 years in the northeast of England providing dental care in the region whilst continuing his post- graduate studies and gaining acknowledgement from patients and dentists alike across the UK. He has a vast experience working in general practice and as a Senior House Officer in the Oral and Maxillofacial Department in the Royal Victoria Infirmary.

Gary’s main passion is the provision of Award Winning, High Quality, Cosmetic and Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry which he will be qualifying in a Masters Degree in Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry at Kings College London and a Diploma in Clear Aligner Orthodontic Treatment in December 23. Gary has won several awards for his work, including Best Young Dentist 2021 and Best Young Private Dentist 2022. We are thrilled to have such an established, refined and dedicated young dentist on our team to provide the best tailored planning and quality treatment carried out with precision for our patients.

Jackie Loughran

Dr. Jacqueline “Jackie” Loughran, boasts an impressive career that began with her graduation from Queen’s University Belfast in 2005, where she earned her BDS with honours. Her dedication to dentistry led her to further qualifications, including membership with the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland in 2010. Jackie’s expertise extends to dental implants and facial aesthetics, skills she honed before taking over a bustling practice in 2017. Her focus now lies in patient care, emphasising preventative and minimally invasive treatments, with a goal of making every patient’s visit to Diamond Dental a positive experience.
